The 7th National Academic Forum on Laser Spectroscopy Technology was held in Hefei in April 2024, organized by the Chinese Optical Society and the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Researchers from universities, institutes and industry discussed developments and applications in laser absorption, photothermal, laser-induced fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy, supporting basic research, theoretical advances and the development of instruments and components.
Associate Researcher Liuhao Ma gave an invited presentation, “High-temperature gas-parameter measurements using laser absorption–dispersion spectroscopy: from in-situ measurements in benchmark flames to online quantitative analysis of complex industrial flue gases.” PhD student Qing Li presented “Temperature and NO/N2O formation in methane–ammonia flames using mid-infrared laser absorption spectroscopy.” Master’s student Shengyao Lu presented a poster, “Measurements of benchmark laminar premixed flames and counterflow diffusion flames using mid-infrared tomographic absorption spectroscopy.” They received the Outstanding Presentation Award for Young Faculty, the Outstanding Graduate Student Presentation Award and the Outstanding Graduate Student Poster Award, respectively.
