On September 16, 2024, Stanford University and Elsevier released the seventh edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists list. Professor Yu Wang of the Advanced Combustion Laboratory was included in the single-year scientific impact list in energy and optics, improving on his 2023 ranking. In energy, he ranked 3,555th among 313,936 researchers.
The list is a joint project of Professor John P. A. Ioannidis’s team at Stanford University and Elsevier, published on Mendeley Data. Based on citation data from Scopus, it uses six composite indicators, including citations with and without self-citations, the h-index and the coauthorship-adjusted hm-index. The career-long and single-year impact lists identify the top 2% of nearly seven million researchers across 22 fields and 176 subfields. They provide indicators of researchers’ academic performance and impact.
