On August 26, 2026, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the review results for applications received during its 2026 centralized submission period. Dr. Qing Li, who completed a PhD in the laboratory in 2025, received support from the NSFC Young Scientists Fund for the project “Active suppression of NOx formation in ammonia combustion through spatial separation of key radicals” (Grant No. 52606153).
Dr. Li pursued his doctoral studies in the laboratory from 2021 to 2025, focusing on ammonia and hydrogen fuel utilization, NOx formation and control, and laser diagnostics of combustion. After graduation, he joined the School of Geography and Environmental Engineering at Gannan Normal University and was appointed as a master’s supervisor. The project will investigate the spatial separation of key radicals in ammonia combustion and the mechanisms by which it regulates NOx formation, providing a scientific basis for clean ammonia fuel utilization.
