On May 9, 2022, the doctoral defense meeting of Mengxiang Zhou, a doctoral student of Grade 2018 in the Advanced Combustion Laboratory, was held in B405, Automotive College. The title of Dr. Mengxiang Zhou's thesis was "study on soot formation mechanism based on multi-field measurement of counterflow diffusion flame". The members of the defense committee are Professor Cheng Xiaobei of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Chairman), Professor Zhang Guangde of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Professor du Changqing of Wuhan University of Technology, Professor Chen Sheng of Wuhan University of Technology and Professor Wang Yiping of Wuhan University of Technology.
Dr. Mengxiang Zhou is a doctoral student under the guidance of Professor Yan Fuwu and Professor Yu Wang. During the doctoral study, multi-field measurement platforms such as PIV velocity field measurement platform, TDLAS temperature field measurement platform, GC intermediate measurement platform and extinction soot volume fraction measurement platform were established based on the counterflow diffusion flame. Through the multi-field collaborative measurement of the above platform, it provides effective experimental data for the verification and optimization of soot formation mechanism, contributes to a deeper understanding of soot formation process, and provides important theoretical support for reducing soot emissions.
During his doctoral degree study, Dr. Mengxiang Zhou, as the student's first author, published 3 SCI papers, 2 conference papers and 10 cooperative papers in Fuel, Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science and other journals. He won the doctoral Scholarship for Excellence and excellently completed the doctoral research task.
